let me check that out .. i have been looking for a way to open up the firewall in the terminal, now that i have your link (in /etc/sysconfig/SuSEfirewall2) let me see how it works out..

personally i think locking  root login out of the box  was a very good security precaution.considering you will have so many people downloading the distro and who are not familiar with Linux security, especially armed with the mind that Linux is immune from viruses !
I must confess that some linux distro this days are trying look more like windows/mac, hahaha ! anyway you should check it out find out where the prob lies. i will get back to you and tell you how it goes.

Thank you!

Thanks for reporting this, I could verify this on the Live-CD. It may be a
side effect of the build, but in any case, it should not.

Na, that is not permitted on *x systems: Search for (e.g.)
  root  xhost +localhost
on google to get some basis

Wait until I fixed that, or follow the instructions in
https://en.opensuse.org/SuSEfirewall2

The line you are looking for is e.g.

FW_SERVICES_ACCEPT_EXT="192.168.2.1/24,tcp"

in /etc/sysconfig/SuSEfirewall2

Dont forget to restart the FW
