Re: cfagent - unknown host

I've tracked down my problem and as suspected, it's something on my end,
nothing with cfengine. However, I could still use a bit of help.

The problem is that I was trying to compile cfengine under RedHat 7.3
and make sure it would work on my RedHat 9 machines (without having to
worry about library differences). So I decided to compile under RH 7.3
with CFLAGS="-static". On 7.3 machines, cfengine works fine. On RH 9
machines, I get the error I posted previously. I believe the pertinent
part is:

gethostbyname: : Inappropriate ioctl for device

So I guess my question is: Is there a way to achieve what I want and
still have it work properly? Or do I just need to compile and
distribute binaries for the two RH versions?

Thanks!
