I am thinking, as a feature-request:

Is it possible to handle the gtags.conf the way as how git handles .gitignore?

So multiple files are honored, with precedence taken into consideration.

The problem on my side is, my dotfiles are synced to different machines which have different gtags.conf.

One in /etc/, one in /etc/local.  So I resort to the sysconfdir variable.
