flyspell not working

Hi

I just installed Kubuntu 7.10 and during this switch, I decided to go 
for the new emacs v22 (gtk version). Almost everything is working as 
expected except for flyspell.

I use the same .emacs file and flyspell is enabled in my tex-file (as 
indicated in the mode line). But no on the fly spelling is performed. 
However if I choose flyspell-buffer, I get the misspelled words 
underlined and I am able to change them.

Any ideas?
