About the original question in the subject line: Just saw this on the python list (a screenshot) https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1933476/screenshots/emacs.png What it is saying is that if you google for emacs, vi puts up a sponsored ad. At least a partial explanation about why emacs is slipping so far behind vi??
