Paps is very good to print standard files without any markup.
It has built in pango markup. That means that some markup of markdown or org
could be converted to paps for beautiful printouts including it print that
other colorful mode.
I am far from city, in village, where I can't attempt yet writing such
converter, but when I come back I will try. It will not have LaTeX handling.
I understand your problem and it is so fundamental yet as you see Emacs doesn't
have good solutions easily available. I wish that Org printouts would be so
much more expensive and legible. Personally I don't like the default LaTeX
styles.
