If that model works with Spice, it's a bug.
This one is fixed in the development version.

When reading a Spice file, it is supposed to be the same as
Spice. Things like this are usually artifacts of the parser.
It can be fixed, but things like this often slip by.
Gnucap "spice" is closer to "HSpice" (Spice-2 derivatives) than
it is to Spice-3 derivatives. Eventually, with plugins, you
will have a choice of which to be compatible with.
