You can do it with grub-install. Since you have a RAID setup, make sure you reinstall GRUB on all drives.

Yes, the GPT partition table overwrites the existing GRUB core image (which cannot read GPT anyway) so GRUB would not be able to boot the system if you had not reinstalled it.
