GNU Make Installation Help

I read the two files you suggested. I executed 'sh ./configure' like the install file said. It processed about 10 lines and returned the following error message

>sh ./configure

.

.

.

.

Configure: gcc ….. no

Configure: cc ….. no

Configure: error: no acceptable cc found in $PATH

>

Any ideas?

The FSF does not provide precompiled versions of GNU make available for download.  Anything you get from the FSF site will be a tarball of source code.

Once you unpack it, read the README and INSTALL files for information about how to compile it.

Do I need to do anything other than copy the make version to my computer and unzip it to use it? I am putting it on a SUN system.

Thanks, Marc
