Arrow keys and others via ssh

Hello!

I used the direct install - Downloaded the proper zip file, manually copied the files to C:\Program Files\Nano, added the folder to the path, opened a command-prompt and validated that nano can indeed edit files.

The problem is that I have the ssh-serverĀ  for Windows installed, and when I log in via ssh and run nano, it sucessfully loads the file, but I can't navigate inside the file.

Pressing any arrow key generates anĀ
[ unbound key ]
message on nano's status-line.

Whether I use the arrow-keys or the arrow-keys on the num-pad, same result.

I can enter text, and use backspace, but not the delete key.

The page-up, page-down, home and end keys work, although they do not seem to update the cursor position.

Using ctrl-X to quit also works.

I am using the ssh client from cygwin to connect.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you for reading.
