Hello Rick
I have generated scdraw.png by
graphics_toolkit fltk
scdraw
tic; print -dpng scdraw.png; toc
I have attached scdraw.png.
The version of octave is 3.7.2+ (VS) and that of Ghostscript is 9.04.
For me fltk printing works correctly and I can also generate pdf files.
