Hello Rick
On my system( Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit, octave-3.7.2+(VS ),
the commands
graphics_toolkit fltk
x = linspace (-10, 10, 201);
y = x.^3;
plot (x,y)
print "testcubic.eps"
gives attached files.
I do not know why you have gotten incorrect results.
