Plot Function Not Working |

Using Qtoctave version 0.10.1 on Linux Mint 13. It was working absolutely
fine until my system upgraded itself today. First, the plot function stopped
working. Even the "help plot" command will return an error. The plot command
said "Gnuplot isn't installed". Then I removed gnu plot and installed it
again. After several such removals and reinstallations, the error changed to
error: invalid use of script in index expression
>>>error: called from:
error: /usr/share/octave/3.2.4/m/help/__makeinfo__.m at line 148, column 7
error: /usr/share/octave/3.2.4/m/help/help.m at line 62, column 25
More surprisingly, the command works (randomly, not regularly) when the
working directory is changed. So far I am not able to find a pattern in this
apparent random behavior. Please help.
