XFAIL frommake check

Hello,
I am trying to install octave 4.2.0 from source on Ubuntu 14.04.
After solving dependences and some additional problems I reached the
following status from *make*:

*Octave successfully built.  Now choose from the following:

   ./run-octave    - to run in place to test before installing
   make check      - to run the tests
   make install    - to install (PREFIX=/usr/local)

   HG ID for this build is "1c67938a15f1"

My questions are:
Is it normal to have those XFAIL instances in the test?
Should it have been a perfect check? In such case: How do I proceed in order
fix the XFAILs?
What about the panic: Segmentation fault?
