- From my .emacs:
,----
| ;; set up GnuPG
|
| (require 'pgg)
|
| ;; verify all signatures: see my USENET posting of 2004-07-23
|
| (setq gnus-buttonized-mime-types
| '("multipart/encrypted" "multipart/signed"))
`----
and from the customize section of my .emacs:
,----
| '(pgg-cache-passphrase t)
| '(pgg-gpg-program "c:/Program Files/Windows Privacy Tools/GnuPG/gpg.exe")
`----
I've also just added the force-v3-sigs to my gpg.conf, as previously
suggested, although looking at the customize options for pgg and its
sub-items makes me wonder if there's a better way to go.

FWIW: I use gnupg with pgg, with WinPT (Windows Privacy Tray), and with
Psi (Jabber).
