Couple questions:
- Do we know if Sergio is still good for the opening talk? (I could probably
give an introductory talk worst-case scenario, just not a lot of prep time.)
- Do we know if there are actually any lightning talks besides Aruna? Rudolf
mentioned he'd organize it, but I'm not sure if he's had a chance to do so.
- Also, I'm not sure that we can expect enough people to split our audience
between the talks and the films. (I think Alleyne Inc only has one projetor by
the way, and I haven't booked the other small room yet, though could do so.)
If there are no lightning talks but Aruna's, let's take some time out of my
musical performance demo, and then maybe merge film festivals with the main
stream afternoon to have one stream, and if possible shorten the email privacy
session a bit to make space for the feature film... e.g. what about something
like...
10:00-10:50: What is Software Freedom?
11:00-11:40: Free Software in Music
11:45-12:00: Aruna's lightning talk
12:00-1:00pm: lunch + (free culture short films OR Never Weaken)
1:00-1:40pm: Email Privacy with Free Software
1:45-2:20pm: GnuPG/PGP Keysigning
2:30-4:30pm: His Girl Friday
We only have the room booked until 5pm right now, including tear down.
Make sense? I'm just trying to think about how to still make this workable
without spreading ourselves too thin between two rooms. I figure shorter
sessions means less material to prepare, and for the keysigning if there is a
smaller group there it might not take as long? (Correct me if I'm wrong.)
Alernatively, if we need more time for the sessions, we could just present films
during lunch, whether it's the feature film that extends lunch 12-2pm, or
whether we use shorter films and stay within an hour (short might be better to
appeal to different tastes or preferences, rather than one long one which could
be hit or miss), e.g.
10:00-10:50: What is Software Freedom?
11:00-11:40: Free Software in Music
11:45-12:00: Aruna's lightning talk
12:00-2:00pm: lunch + free culture film festival
2:00-2:50pm: Email Privacy with Free Software
3:00-3:50pm: GnuPG/PGP Keysigning
And pizza lunch could work if we ask people to contribute cash? (Or maybe I
could ask Alleyne Inc. to sponsor so be can advertise gratis pizza?)
Make sense?
