A couple options I can think of:

1) Hidden pitch in the \lyricsto voice context; place the rest in a 
simultaneous voice.
2) Use \lyricsto with a NullVoice that has the timing you want.
3) Use explicit durations in the Lyrics; do not use \lyricsto.
