Hello,

What you see is perfectly normal. The problem you have is probably
related to your sound device. Check that other audio application can
play sound, and prefer using alsa-drivers (http://www.alsa-project.org )
than kernel-2.4 official sound drivers.
The connection refused message usually happens half a second because the
other end may not have yet opened the receiving socket.
