RE "MxN help directories".
I'm told that when eg a russian and a chinese speak, they
speak english. Within africa, the same.
Pretty much anyone internationally-oriented speaks english,
they say.
The vast majority of stuff on the net is in english -- you give
me a percentage -- what would it be, 95%? 98%?
The young people everywhere are learning english.
Now, all that above -- add to it this:
With M$ pushing "use fancy fonts, pictures, etc",
and sun and ibm pushing java apps, and everyone but us
lynx-lovers wanting pictures, colors, moving objects, and
more pictures, and user-friendly (sic),
and thus more and more sites becoming UN-friendly to
lynx -- the lifetime of lynx as a usable browser for
most of the net (save for ftp-sites) might not be too long
yet...
Too bad, for sure!!!
Anyway, going MxN anything re languages will be a HORRIBLE CAN
OF WORMS.
Maybe this group can limit itself to putting in HOOKS for
pointing at different directories, that some lynx ADMINISTRATOR
can, if he/she wants, can make point to something.
But any work on actual translated text, etc, should be
totally segregated from the code set maintained by THIS group.
Agree? Disagree?
