that's a new distinction for me.
originally -- back in the days of Robespierre -- ,
prefixes > 1 used capitals (D H K), < 1 lower-case (d c m);
my understanding has been that today `k' & `K' are both allowed,
tho' `K' is more consistent with SI's `M G T P E';
in German, `Kilometer' will have a capital, being a noun.
anyway, as i said before, i won't risk my life over it.
