Hmmm ... firstly, something seems to be rather busted with your mail s/w,
Tom. Your Date: header is suddenly coming across the wire (in two consec-
utive messages) as:

  Date: Thu, 31 Dec 1998 22:52:14 -72500 (EST)
                                  ^^^^^^--------[should be -0500, of course]

which mutt (actually, strftime()) happily interprets as Jan 03, 1999 with
%y/%Y as the year format tokens, or as Jan 03, 1998 using %g/%G.

Or is this an attempt to get a year up on the Y2K bugs ... :-) ...?

As may be ...

| I think I do - I may overlook some patch if it is at the end of a lot of
| discussion (since the discussion may be out of my range), but most patches
| are clearly marked. But I'm trying to keep up, so unless there's a coding
| problem to resolve, you should remind me after I put out a patch.
|
| (Still, I do miss some - Kim Devaugn's current patch said it was the third
| try).

FWIW, I just checked the archives, and sure enough, both are in there. The
first was actually the 3rd incarnation of my original patch, and was against
2.8.2-rel.2. There was about a screen's worth of discussion before the patch
proper, which may be why you missed it, and went with the 2nd incarnation for
the -dev.4 release.

OTOH, the cleanup patch (made against -dev.8) had very little discussion text
in it, and was posted within minutes of another, unrelated patch I posted,
which *did* get picked up. I just assumed that you got busy with other stuff
(like Christmas shopping, or some such).

Anyway ... no big deal for me ... especially since the reposts allowed me to
cleanup a couple typos/nits each time ... :-) ...!

Just in case you should want to look at those old postings, the headers from
the archives are attached.

Which brings up a point about the archive itself: is there a good reason why
the Message-ID: header isn't shown on the (HTML formatted) postings? If it
is a question of display space, I suggest not displaying Sender:, in favor of
showing the Message-ID:.

New Year's Cheer to ya ...!
