my problem with building a mldonkey package is to get a working 
ocaml-3.06. the stable version is 3.04, the unstable 3.06 isnt working 
(nother libc) and if i try to compile ocaml by hand, i get errors while 
compiling the native compilers with make opt and opt.opt (afaiu). so 
what do you mean with build bytecode (sorry, not a programmer :-/ )

i could post some error messages from the ocaml build if you are 
interrested ?!
