Well, from what I have seen, the current behavior is not very
different from before. The new sources management main interests are:
- it can handle many more sources (old sources are compressed and
  don't use a lot of memory as before)
- it can be modified easily to add new sources behavior. in
  particular, to take file priority into account
- it can be used to get a better idea of file availability and of good
  clients

So you will have to wait to see the advantages come...
