For your question on sharing mldonkey sources, latest mldonkey version 
(rc1-12) seems to have the fix :

2003/04/01: Simon  (v 2.04rc1-12)
 - Fixed per user Column Sorting in HTTP interface
 - Fixed bug #3003 :)
