Hello all,

I just read the thread about debian and mldonkey.
First of all, thanks to the mldonkey team && debian_ocaml_maint ML. That
help me a lot to do such a thing.

For now, a package exists and is installable ( i am not talking about
Goswin one, but one brand new ). The package should be a very good
candidate for inclusion in Sid next week or so.

I am working of a revision of this package ( the package is version
2.4.2, i am working on 2.5 ).

Currently what i do :
* trying to build a real chroot for mldonkey ( maybe using
 MLDONKEY_CHROOT, but it seems a little broken )
* fixing ocaml policy bug
* trying to get rid of the builtin zoggy ( because zoggy already exist
 in debian and it should be use to build the .zog )
* trying to find a stable version of mldonkey.

What has been done :
* debconf script for a server wide mldonkey
* manpage ( don't think it is new things, it is just a transcript of
 mlnet -help )
* mldonkey_option a program to parse *.ini

What you can do to help :
* indicates me what version of mldonkey is enough stable to be packaged
 ( ie, that can run for two day or more )
* send me your init.d script
* tell me what options need to be set ( for now : enable_*,
 client_name... ) ( but some maybe very important to you, and i am not
 good enough to select this option ).
* give me the url of the best documentation of how to configure mldonkey
 for dummy user

Why i don't give you the url where you can find this package :
* i am shy
* i don't want to propagate a mldonkey-server package that is
 problematic and which could cause security problem.
* i need to check for bugreport the more directly i can ( some of my
 friend use debian/mldonkey-server and told me all the problem, erros
 wishlist, i select the fewer people to start, when they will be
 satisfied, i will send the package to all of you, before sending to
 debian repository ).

So be patient. MLDonkey is big and unfortunately a day is only 24h. I
prepare the next release ( 2.5 ). In a few day, if my mentor told me
that all is okey, i will post the url to test the package.

Best regards
Sylvain LE GALL
