[Nss-mysql-users] Lots of connections to MySQL

I seem to be having a few issues with the number of connections that nss-mysql 
keeps open to mysql.

After 2 days of running, there are 118 connections to MySQL sleeping, and 
after an hour of running, the connections have crept up from starting at 5, 
to now being 18.  I need to often restart nscd just to get my system 
functioning again, as nscd has stopped working due to too many connections a 
few times now.

Any ideas?
