Follow-up Comment #1:
Thanks for your bug report. Since database is installed by 'pkg', versus all
the other packages you have listed, I suspect you simply need to reinstall the
package. When a package is installed, it typically only works with that major
version of Octave. When your system upgraded from Octave 4.4 to 5.1, the
database package needs to be rebuilt / reinstalled. Please try that and
comment again if there are still problems.
