Follow-up Comment #24, bug #58795 (project octave):

I crossed with your last comment #22.

That is strange. I would have expected your case 2.) to fail, too.
Maybe the issue is that the size of pointers is different for 32bit and 64bit
targets. Maybe somewhere a pointer type is used for indexing or vice versa?
But I guess that the compiler would at least warn about that...

I'll have a look why SUNDIALS IDA doesn't use KLU for native Linux builds with
MXE Octave (probably a different bug from the one here).
