Follow-up Comment #22, bug #59173 (project octave): There is also this configure check which also references .oct and .mex files: http://hg.savannah.gnu.org/hgweb/octave/file/6ec04c206ac4/m4/acinclude.m4#l2784 It's already possible to query `DL_LDFLAGS` from mkoctfile. Maybe it would make sense to add it to DEFAULT_LDFLAGS and then follow Rik's patch in comment #13. I'm currently cross-building stable with the attached change which is similar to Rik's patch. (Some packages don't build for default at the moment.)
