Follow-up Comment #2, bug #64363 (project octave): I shared a folder "c:\myfolder_with_a_very_longpath" as "\\mypc\myfolder" in the gui and then mapped a network drive letter to "\\mypc\myfolder". I did not use the "SUBST" command. What I did is probably more like NET SHARE ... NET USE ... Pointing to octaves _movefile_ command seems to be the right direction for me.
