Follow-up Comment #31, bug #64361 (project octave):

"This does seem like an annoying processor-specific bug."

As I mentioned before I can reproduce this behavior on aarch64
(raspberry Pi) if I compile with " -O2 -mcpu=native" that should enable
Cortex-A72 vectorized math processor
(https://developer.arm.com/Architectures/Neon).

I suspect there will be a similar issue on Apple M1/M2 chips.
