Just as a one-time hint:
Building the rasterread functions in the mapping package requires not just the
libraries but also the header files and probably other "devel" dependencies.
I'm unfamiliar with Mac OS but to get those on Linux one needs to install the
development packages as well (along the lines of gdal-devel or
lib64gdal-<version>-devel) + maybe other dependencies as well (e.g.,
geotiff-devel?, etc.).
For follow-up please post to the Discourse Octave help forum.
Closing as "invalid" as this is not a bug report.
We can always reopen but it looks like this is not an issue with the mapping
package itself.
