Follow-up Comment #3, bug#65390 (group octave):

The same with "sscanf":

octave:1> s1 = sprintf("1 2")
s1 = 1 2
octave:2> a1 = sscanf(s1, '%f  %f')
a1 =

   1
   2

octave:3> s2 = sprintf("1 2\n")
s2 = 1 2

octave:4> a2 = sscanf(s2, '%f  %f')
a2 =

   1
   2
   2



So "\n" seems to break the "Xscanf"
