Thanks Torsten.
It works much better now. 
It's one of those tiny cosmetic things that is easily overcome for us
contributors and developers but that still might help to erode faith in Octave
for ordinary users.

Yet it isn't completely fixed. During a  __run_test_suite__  on my Windows box
run I noted that somewhere during the 19000 or so tests the column widths got
reset again. Heisenbug or nasal daemons come to mind :-)
