There was an initial implementation produced by a student mentored by Marco 
Caliari (FabioCassini IIRC), 
his BitBucket repository (https://bitbucket.org/FabioCassini/octave) was 
removed when BitBucket discontinued 
mercurial support and I don't have a local copy ...

Maybe someone else has access to that code?
