Thank you very much for that change. That will probably make updating gnulib a 
lot easier in the future.

The MXE Octave buildbots (native and Windows cross-builds) seem to be failing 
since that change.
Maybe the octave-hg-repo (or at least the gnulib subdirectory) needs to be 
cleared once on the workers, too?
