Follow-up Comment #2, patch #8513 (project octave):
I have read the documentation of these Matlab functions and I think I can make
the functions I wrote compatible with them.
The main differences are that Matlab functions accept geographic coordinates
as inputs while the functions I wrote accept matrix indices directly.
Obviously, the conversion from geographic coordinates to matrix indices is
done by means of an additional argument.
However, coverage function provides more information than viewshed, because
the first one provides the clearance in the path while the last one provides
boolean data of visibility.
