Follow-up Comment #1, patch #9586 (project octave):

This would be a good addition along with the class 'missing' and all of the
support for converting it into various types that Octave already supports.

I agree that 'ismissing' would be a good addition to Octave, but not without
'missing', and a full suite of tests for various conversions from the missing
type to other types.

Are you planning on working on the missing type as well?
