Follow-up Comment #12, patch #10021 (project octave):

Alfredo Foltran confirmed so I'll try to his vicentyDirect.m function to see
how much better it works (accuracy, performance) and if OK, vectorize his
function, get it into the mapping pkg.

If it all works out OK, would you see how it can be invoked behind meridianfwd
instead of geodeticfwd?

BTW Somewhere I read some critical comments on the Vicenty formulas but first
let's see how it behaves.

Alfredo Foltran also has another reckon.m version. TBH I'd first need to
rediscover where the reckon.m currently in the mapping package is inaccurate.
