Follow-up Comment #21, patch #10021 (project octave):

I've pushed Alfredo Foltran's vincentyDirect.m function here:

(fixed a minor typo along the way)

and then pushed a new geodeticfwd.m here:
http://hg.code.sf.net/p/octave/mapping/rev/7f9640d8956c
which is merely a wrapper around vincentyDirect.m that offers more flexible
input.

I've added some BIST but will add more in the coming days/weeks.
meridianfwd is next to be added then.

Later on I'd also like to incorporate Alfedo's vincenty.m and a wrapper around
it (probably called geodeticarc).
