Thanks, I'll try your suggestion this weekend on the JSON files in my
browser's profile subdir.
I wouldn't know how to provoke another regexprep error than encoding stuff so
that I can test the "else" clause, but just let me think about it.

BTW I'm with you about the need for clear and useful error messages. But if an
unwary user is put off by "regexprep" etc. I hope he/she will rush to the help
& support forums here.
