Thanks for looking at this, John. It wasn't written as a clone of Matlab per
se but came out of the work done on the taylorwin implementation. For that,
the reference https://www.osti.gov/servlets/purl/1365510
was used, so the plots were based on the ones used in that document.
Subsequently, it was spun out as a standalone utility (since it is useful for
most window functions, not just taylorwin) and named wvtool since it's pretty
close in what it does to the Matlab utility.
There is in fact an option to select which subplots are displayed i.e. giving
a more Matlab-like result; I guess further Matlab compatibility can be added
if needed in future.
