I still have an (unrealistic?) goal of having 0.12.x run on Windows,
where 100% of the people will have to download and install these
dependencies, assuming they're portable. Deeper Gnome bindings will
be optional, but I'd like to get the base system running first.
In fact most of the things that Pan 0.11.x uses Gnome for have been
assumed by gtk+ with the gtk2 release, so end users probably won't
notice the difference at first.
Where I'd like to see Pan make better use of Gnome in 0.12.x
is with gnome-print, gnome-vfs, and so on...
