It would, but since I don't want pan to clear the cache every time I
exit, I'd rather not have a couple of gigs of news cache just sit around
on my drive taking up space - 50 megs should be plenty of cache.

Anyway, the point of a cache is to speed up access to things.  Once
something has been downloaded, though it might be nice to have around in
a cache in case I accidentally delete it, it shouldn't take priority
over something that I'm trying to read at that moment.

But, this is just a request, and since I'm not a C coder (and am busy
working my a$$ off on other OSS projects), the best I can do is hope for
someone else to take interest in it.  So I'm going to shut up now and
keep my fingers crossed.
