        If I've been following along correctly, and we're talking about
mpg files that have been posted with filenames like video.mpg.001,
video.mpg.002 etc, there is a much easier solution - lxpslit.
        The files get created that way usually by hjsplit on Windows -
lxsplit is the cli linux equivalent - there is also a GUI version
