The print article feature is feature-request bugged. Charles says it
/will/ be making a comeback at some point (and IIRC the accels.txt hotkey
dump still has a reserved print function, that doesn't work ATM, of
course), but he's planning on using the newly added to GTK print
functionality when he does add it back. According to the last discussion
I saw, it's actually in released GTK now, but only the last version or
two. So anyway, when it /does/ return, don't expect it to work on old
GTK-2.6 versions or the like, as they don't include the functionality pan
will be using.

I expect (read as this is my thoughts, not necessarily Charles', maybe
I've read too much between the lines that might not be there) that'll be
a feature added in the feature-burst after 1.0 stable comes out, pre-1.1
stable. Really, pan has been in more or less of a feature freeze since
July or August, as the bugs have been slowly worked out on the way toward
1.0 stable. Thus, it has been some time since features have been freely
added, and there's a bit of a backup now waiting until after 1.0 stable.
I honestly have no idea whether Charles plans to stabilize one feature at
a time but fairly quickly, thus progressing rapidly thru 1.1 stable, 1.2
stable, etc, or whether he intends to add several of the much requested
ones pre-1.1 and stabilize that over perhaps a year or so again.

You mentioned workarounds, so you probably already know about the save
text, open in your favorite text editor or whatever, and print from
there, and that's just not cutting it. If you didn't know, well, that's
how I'd do it, anyway.

As for mailing article, pan has that functionality now, tho it uses the
configured mailer helper now instead of handling it all itself. As such,
I'm not sure what exactly you are referring to as missing now. If you
just don't have it configured right and thus can't use it, perhaps we can
get that fixed. If instead you want pan to handle mail itself as it used
to, that's not likely to happen. If it's something else, perhaps a bit
more detail is in order. Anyway, there /is/ mail functionality, so if
it's that you are missing, you know to look closer and try to figure out
the config now, since it definitely works as I use it regularly to
forward articles to myself. (I use news for expiring things, like this
mailing list, which I see as a newsgroup thru gmane.org's list2news
services, but file tech posts I want to keep in my mail client.)
