Some CELTA centres will not accept you if you do not have a degree and experience teaching, so that has to tell you the quality of teaching English is no easy matter. It will take hard work, perhaps some financial difficulty, and more hard work with an abundance of patience to get to what you want.
I spent a good chunk of the class answering questions about the song, talking about music, and teaching new vocab, then finished up with a couple more times singing the song.
It's tough to know someone in China living in America. Aside from another reason to give governments more of our money, it also means there is likely to be someone who knows very little about our industry putting their noses into everything.

You are in control not the institution wanting to employ you. Volunteering for Peace Corps is a brilliant idea after you get your teaching degree. I did notice one for a school in Cali. including employment.

Decide if teaching is for you. Then other opportunities can open up for you. " Well, it applies in most things in life, doesn't it? I went through LTI TEFL in Beijing.

So for the Marley songs, first I had them practice following the lyrics while they heard the song, then we did a listen and repeat practice for the lyrics, then we sang it with the music.

They go to people who have a degree, experience and then a highly qualified certification such as a CELTA and or DELTA and even, as I am now finding out, a MASTERS. Every once and a while one of them translates close enough to the original that we can actually sing it in English. If they need a teacher and you are the one they want they will accomodate your wishes. In some cases this has been a good thing, and will hopefully provide some protection for teachers, school owners, and students alike. I have seen it and know it is so.
Many jobs however, especially the better ones do ask for both a certificate and a degree. They had a good time with it. You are in control not the institution wanting to employ you. throughout your entire life.
Especially about finishing the degree.
Just look at the boards, and you'll see warning messages about schools.
