I got this against the source with
git checkout 481ee9c1ac4e7adf004313e689830b7052e61429

I guess this should be a version which includes the fix, but excludes http://git.savannah.gnu.org/cgit/pspp.git/commit/?id=48deb6eb1f122a0708ec97daac5774d5fa7e12c7  I expect the last patch to interfere with patch3 of Ben.

But even if I run against the current source I get the same error.
