Good news is: the test suite is now 100% OK on my Red Hat 8 system. My
thanks to John Vandenberg for doing most of the work! My users will
certainly enjoy being able to use quilt. My next target will be Solaris
8 with old versions of the GNU tools. Fingers crossed.
