Follow-up Comment #5, bug #20570 (project rdiff-backup): Never had problems with the network - regularly to transfers of large files - dvd's & mondoarchive - without problem. Attached is the output of a quick(ish) test; copy works fine. Are there not any further diagnostics to run of rdiff-backup to narrow the field a little? Would gdb help or valgrind perhaps? You say I've had a network failure that I've recovered from, how so? Why would rdiff-backup fail where copy works? M.
